Service Description
Intro to Rifles bridges basic knowledge and practical rifle handling for safe, confident shooting in real world contexts. This full day, range focused course covers safe manipulations, basic marksmanship, loading/unloading, sling use, basic maintenance, and range drills that build repeatable rifle skills through progressive dry fire and live fire practice. Who it’s for Designed for new rifle owners or students who have completed a basic safety course and are comfortable with firearm fundamentals. No prior rifle experience required—just a willingness to learn and follow safety directions. What you’ll practice High value, skill building exercises and drills including: • Safe rifle handling, muzzle and trigger discipline, clearing and loading procedures • Magazine loading and sling fitting/wear • Dry repetitions of safety manipulations and immediate actions • Basic marksmanship fundamentals (sight presentation, smooth trigger press, stance, grip) at close distances • Holdover/offset and simple aiming adjustments • Grouping/prone exercise (intro to zeroing) and progressive walk back engagement from 10–50 yds • Practical drills: controlled strings, graduation drill, shooting steel, and a fun “knockout” competition to reinforce learning • Basic field strip, cleaning, lubrication, reassembly, and function checks Course format & requirements Full day classroom and range instruction with safety and medical briefings. Bring a quality semi automatic centerfire rifle (carbine or modern sporting rifle), two or more magazines, sling, sturdy belt, eye/ear protection, appropriate footwear/clothing, and 200-220 rounds of ammunition (adjust per instructor guidance). Students must complete waiver and safety form before live fire. Full attendance required. Outcome Participants will leave with a solid, safety first foundation in rifle handling, improved sight to target consistency, basic zeroing/grouping skills, reliable reloads and malfunction responses, and the confidence to continue toward advanced rifle training.
