Build reliable rifle fundamentals and learn how to get your optic on target. This full day, hands on course blends focused classroom instruction with extensive dry fire and live fire practice to teach safe manipulations, basic marksmanship, zeroing fundamentals, and practical shooting from multiple positions and distances. What we cover • Safe rifle handling, clear/load procedures, and sustained muzzle/trigger discipline during all manipulations. • Fundamentals: sight presentation, sight picture, smooth trigger control, stance, grip, trigger reset, and follow through. • Holdover/offset principles and practical application at close range. • Prone grouping and intro to zeroing (50 yd zero concepts and basic optic adjustments). • Bolt lock reloads, immediate action for malfunctions, magazine management, and sling use. • Target to target transitions, positional shooting (kneeling/seated), timed graduation drills, shooting steel, and a fun knockout challenge. Who it’s for New rifle owners and students who have completed a basic safety course and want a practical, safety first foundation in rifle handling and zeroing.. Logistics & gear Full day class with classroom and range segments. Bring a semi automatic centerfire rifle (carbine/MSR), two or more magazines, sling, eye/ear protection, sturdy footwear, appropriate clothing, and 300–400 rounds of ammunition (instructor may adjust). Outcomes Graduates leave with improved sight to target consistency, basic zeroing/grouping skills, reliable reload and malfunction responses, and the confidence to continue to advanced rifle operator courses.
